The Police’s unceasing fight against the smuggling of illegal cigarettes into the country paid off yet again with the arrest of four suspects at Maleboho on the weekend.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe informed that four suspects found in possession of 61 big boxes and 460 small boxes of illegal cigarettes were arrested on Saturday. He added that the suspects were expected to appear in court earlier this week and that more arrests in the case were expected.
Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba expressed his appreciation towards the Police for taking an unyielding stand against crime in the province. Community members were also encouraged to provide the Police with information that can lead to the successful arrest of suspects.
