#MokopaneShutdown: Mayor walks the streets

MOKOPANE – Mayor Andrina Matsemela is walking the streets in town today encouraging businesses not to close their doors. The mayor was in good spirit with her bodyguard accompanying her when Bosveld met them at the Mokopane Mall.

Matsemela did what she promised in a meeting on Monday with various stakeholders regarding the plans of the Mokopane Task Team, Mogalakwena Concerned and Affected Citizens and the South African National Civic Organisation to shut down the town. She said she is going to walk the streets to make sure no one feels threatened.

She posed for a photo and said: “It is important that businesses stay open and that the staff and owners are safe.” Matsemela supports were wearing their white T-shirts with the words: “People against shutdown. Mogalakwena is open for business,” on it.
