[WATCH] Veld fires reduce visibility on N1 near Modimolle
Motorists on the N1 near Modimolle have been warned about low visibility conditions due to veld fires on both sides of the highway.
LIMPOPO – Department of Transport earlier issued a warning about smoke on the road and urged motorists to drive with caution.

This after several people lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision between Petroport and Wallmansthal on the N1 on Friday, 27 September. A roadside veld fire that covered the freeway in a blanket of thick smoke was reportedly the leading cause of the said collision.
