Negligence leads to the death of two toddlers
The toddlers, aged two and three, burnt to death in a shack fire at Magau village in Tshilwavhusiku Policing area outside Louis Trichardt on Monday, 30 September.

LIMPOPO – In a statement, Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the police were notified about the said incident at around 17:30, and rushed to the scene to find the shack burning. The father of the deceased alleged he and his wife had left to collect fire wood nearby, when they received a call that their shack had caught fire and the children were still inside.
Emergency services personnel were on the scene and the bodies of the deceased were found inside the shack burnt beyond recognition, Ngoepe added.
The deceased were identified as Tshilidzi Bleesing Mulamu (3) and Tshinakaho Mulaudzi (2).

The cause of fire is still unknown at this stage but police investigations in this matter are ongoing.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the incident and urged parents to not leave children unattended at home. “This behaviour is unacceptable. It is the duty of parents to protect children at all times,” he said.
