The 38-year-old Westenburg woman, Maria Kekana who was reportedly kidnapped last Sunday was found in the Musina area and is currently recuperating in a local hospital.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe could not elaborate on her condition and only indicated that she was found last Thursday within the Musina Policing area and has been hospitalised since.
Regarding the supposed kidnapping Ngoepe remarked that the woman would be interviewed as soon as she has fully recovered and only then will the Police decide on what charge to continue investigating.
This after Police issued a statement last Tuesday indicating that Kekana had left her home in Westenburg last Sunday driving a white Toyota Yaris with registration number CZX 412 L.
She was allegedly on her way to Polokwane to run some errands but never returned home.
At about 23:30 the same day Kekana’s husband reportedly received a call from an unknown number and when he answered he only heard his wife’s desperate plea for help in the background, alleging that she had been kidnapped and was being kept at an unknown location inside a locked shack.
Ngoepe added that the call was then disconnected and when the husband tried to return the call the phone was directly diverted to the voicemail service.
