UPDATE: 8 arrested for brutal mob killing in ga-Molepo, Mankweng
Eight people, aged between 42 and 61, were arrested on Wednesday for the brutal murder of Thabana Mokgohloa (58) and Mack Mashapa (55).
LIMPOPO – The deceased were killed on Monday, 21 October during a mob justice incident at ga-Molepo in the Mankweng policing area.
The charred bodies of the deceased were found by police on Tuesday, 22 October.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo says the accused were arrested during a crime intelligence driven operation that was conducted in the areas of Koppermyn and Mmatobole villages in gaMaja, as well as Laastehoop in ga-Molepo. The operation was comprised of members from the Crime Intelligence Unit, Mankweng Detectives and the Tracking Team.
He adds that a vehicle believed to be the one used to transport the suspects was also confiscated during the arrests.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba commended the team for their quick arrests of the people responsible for the gruesome murders.
The accused will each be charged on two counts of murder, kidnapping and malicious damage to property. They are expected to appear in Mankweng Magistrate Court soon.
