Mogalakwena Municipality to cut water, electricity supply at departments in debt

The municpality call on these departments and parastatals to either make payments or arrangements for payments

MOKOPANE – The Mogalakwena Municipality plans to cut off electricity and water supply to various government departments and parastatals which owe the municipality millions of Rand.

The municipality currently pays Eskom and Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) millions of Rand due to the nonpayment from the above mentioned entities.  The municipality will therefore soon launch a campaign in order to educate and encourage those with outstanding bills to pay for services, said Malesela Selokela, Head of Communications at the municipality.

“There are businesses that owe the municipality millions of Rand. Therefore, the municipality has given notice of their intention to cut water and electricity supply as from 1 December. We call on these departments and parastatals to either make payments or arrangements for payments.”
