VIDEO: Aftermath of Gome fire shows complete destruction

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the fire department is still on scene to make sure that the fire is extinguished completely.

POLOKWANE – The Municipality says it is awaiting a formal preliminary report from disaster management and fire services as to what could have caused the blaze at the Gome store between NJ Market and the SABC on the corner of Hospital and Hans van Rensburg Street.

A video, supplied to Review by the Polokwane Municipality shows complete destruction inside with most of the goods burnt to a crisp. The roof of the building also collapsed in some places.

A fire broke out on Thursday night, causing road closures around the building to allow firefighters to attend to the blaze.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the fire department are still on scene to make sure that the fire is extinguished completely.
