100+ in self-isolation after doctor at Pietersburg Provincial Hospital tests positive for Covid-19
More than 100 health professionals and patients have been asked to self-isolate after having come into contact with a medical doctor who works at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital and who had tested positive for Covid-19.

POLOKWANE – Earlier reports indicated that they had been quarantined at the hospital, but a spokesperson confirmed that the group instead went into self-quarantine, a term that instead refers to self-isolation.

The group of people went into self-isolation on Thursday after the doctor informed the department of his test results. According to the MEC, Phophi Ramathuba the doctor had been in self-isolation before being tested.
Health Spokesperson Neil Shikwambana confirmed that the doctor was working in the internal medicine section.
Meanwhile during a provincial command task team feedback session held on Wednesday, it was confirmed that a total of 251 tests had been conducted in the province, with 21 people testing positive for Covid-19. It is envisioned that a series of testing roll-outs would be done in various districts of the province in day to come.
By Friday evening, the province had recorded 24 positive cases of Covid-19.
Of these, Limpopo Provincial Government confirmed that 6 were recorded in Polokwane; 3 in Mogalakwena; 4 in Thulamela; 2 in Modimolle; 5 in Lephalale; 1 in Greater Tzaneen; 1 in Phalaborwa, and 2 in Makhado
