Cops arrest ‘reservist’ at roadblock

LIMPOPO – A man was arrested in Makhado today during a roadblock.

According to a statement by Matome Moremi, Transport and Community Safety Spokesperson, the man was arrested for various violations which include travelling with passengers to Pretoria without a permit and the illegal possession of a military uniform.

“The man, who said he was a reservist, failed to respond to basic military protocol from army personnel who formed part of the roadblock,” the statement adds.

Moremi said the man had a military hat on his dashboard, which he showed the police when he was stopped.

“The soldiers were at the roadblock and he could not answer some questions. They found that he is only a reservist and abused the uniform to transport people to Pretoria. He had three passengers and they were also arrested because they did not have permits.”
