BREAKING NEWS – Department supports families after raging storm

The Department of Social Development is currently providing psychosocial and other support to approximately 200 families whose home were damaged by a heavy storm in the Vhembe area recently.
It was learnt that the storm hit 22 villages in the Vhembe District. Tshipise Tshasagole village was hit the worst with 62 household affected.
Departmental Spokesperson, Witness Tiva indicated that the affected families are being provided with food parcels and temporary shelter where needed. He reiterated that no injuries were reported and added that the relief efforts are being driven by the district’s disaster management unit, Department of Social Development, Musina and Thulamela Local Municipalities.
