Lepelle Northern Water stops pumping at Olifantspoort for repairs

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) are busy repairing a non-return valve and says the repair may take a few hours.

POLOKWANE – A non-return valve at the Olifantspoort Scheme is being repaired according to the Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala.

Selala said in a statement that Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) notified the Polokwane Municipality that it has stopped the Olifaantspoort Scheme this morning in order to repair the valve.

Selala said that water supply at Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja, Thokgwaneng, Ivydale and Nirvana to Seshego will be affected.

“LNW has estimated 12-hours until completion of repairs. Water supply shall be restored once LNW is done with the repairs,” the statement added.
