Giyani: School principal in custody for allegedly plotting to kill his wife
The man appeared in the court earlier today and was denied bail.

LIMPOPO – Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the man appeared in the Waterval Magistrate’s Court today. He was granted R1 000 bail and his case was postponed to 8 January 2021.

LIMPOPO – A 49-year-old school principal from Bungeni Village, Giyani was denied bail by the Waterval Magistrate’s Court today (Friday, 30 October).
He appeared briefly on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder and was denied bail. He is expected to re-appear on 5 November, says, Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
The suspect was arrested by the police earlier this week, following an investigation into an alleged death plot against his 43-year-old wife.
According to an earlier statement the accused had allegedly offered a local man a sizeable payment to kill his wife. The wife, however, got wind of her husband’s intentions and informed the police. Investigations into the matter were conducted and the suspect was arrested.

LIMPOPO – An investigation into an alleged death plot against a 43-year-old woman from Bungeni Village, outside Giyani, has led to the arrest of her husband (49).
The suspect, who is a principal at a school in the area, was arrested by the police following an investigation and is expected to appear in the Hlanganani Magistrate’s Court soon, on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder, reads a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
“It is alleged the accused had on 16 July, offered a local man a sizeable payment to kill his wife. The wife, however, got wind of her husband’s intentions and informed the police.”
Investigations into the matter were conducted and the suspect was arrested. Investigation still continue, Ngoepe added.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba once again urged those who are facing marital problems or any other social related problems, to seek professional intervention instead of resorting to harming each other.
He added that those who commit crimes against the most vulnerable, especially women and children, will be dealt with harshly and without compromise.
