The Department of Health says these individuals are busy with 'nefarious activities' and advises residents to report them.

LIMPOPO – The department of Health has warned residents to report ‘bogus researchers’ who target communities of the province under the guise of Covid-19 research. These individuals claims to be researchers from the department and take blood samples from residents.

According to Department Spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana the department has not mandated any such research. “It is suspected these individuals are carrying out nefarious activities and residents who encounter them are advised to contact the police immediately.”

He reminds residents that any research conducted though the department will only be done through the established community structures such as local councilors/ ward committee members, traditional leadership and the local health care facility managers.
