Limpopo’s Covid-19 cases up to 60 333

The province recorded a further 109 positive cases in the last 24-hour reporting cycle. Here is a breakdown of positive, active cases and deaths recorded in each municipality:

LIMPOPO – The province saw an increase of 109 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours according to the Health Department. The increase takes the cumulative number of cases in the province to 60 333, of which 57 626 people have recovered.

The majority of new cases were recorded in the Capricorn district (31), followed by 24 in Sekhukhune, 20 in Vhembe and 17 each in Mopani and Waterberg.

Polokwane had the most new cases (25) in the Capricorn district, while Blouberg had three new cases, Lepelle Nkumpi two and Molemole one.

Sekhukhune’s cases were recorded in Fetakgomo/Tubatse (11), Makhuduthamaga (8), Elias Motsoaledi (3) and Ephraim Mogale (2).

The majority of Vhembe’s cases were recorded in Makhado (11), followed by Thulamela (8) and Collins Chabane (1).

In the Mopani district; Phalaborwa had 10 new cases, Tzaneen had four, Letaba had two and Giyani had one.

The Waterberg district’s most new cases were recorded in Mokgalakwena (7). The other cases were recorded in Thabazimbi (4), Modimolle-Mookgophong (4) and Bela-Bela (2).

Thus far, 1 633 people in the province have died from the virus and there are currently 1 074 active Covid-19 cases in Limpopo.
