Relief for frustrated Mokopane residents
Traffic flow in town will be affected while municipal teams fix potholes and carry out other road maintenance.
MOKOPANE – Frustrated motorists will be relieved to note that the Mogalakwena Local Municipality’s teams are repairing potholes in and around town.
Mogalakwena Mayor, Frans Mokwele said in a media statement that the programme of repairing potholes and road maintenance throughout Mokopane kicked off on Tuesday, 4 May. Mokwele urged residents to exercise patience and co-operate with the traffic officials, who will regulate traffic on routes where lanes will be closed down.

Mokwele said the programme was started with the aim to upgrade the condition of the roads, to save wheels, lives and money. “The municipal management and officials will prioritise roads that are more frequently used before attending to other areas.”
Areas where construction will take place is Nelson Mandela Drive, Thabo Mbeki Drive, the R101, De Klerk Street, Pretorius Street as well as Retief Street.

“Normal flow of traffic will be affected, and motorists are urged to exercise patience,” concluded Mokwele.
