Power outage: Muni estimates 6-hour repair time
A cable theft incident has left parts of the Polokwane municipal area without power.
POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality’s electrical team is working to restore the power to areas affected by the latest cable theft incident.
Areas affected include Emdo Park, Rethabile Gardens, Mahlako ‘a Phaahla, Lesedi Park, Mahlasedi Park and plots along Dendron/Mogwadi road (R521).
Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala says the maintenance team has estimated a six-hour restoration time. “The power supply will be restored once the cable has been repaired.”
All affected customers are in the meantime advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once supply is restored.
The municipality encourages residents to report suspicious activities such as cable theft and vandalism to the Polokwane Municipality’s Law Enforcement Services on 015 023 5484 or to police on 08600 10111.
