[TAKE NOTE] Water scheme stoppage to leave many areas without water
Lepelle Northern Water will stop pumping from the Olifantspoort plant to allow their team to repair multiple leaks along the main water pipeline, says the municipality
POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality warns of a stoppage at Olifanstpoort water scheme to take place today (Wednesday, July 7).
According to municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala the municipality received a communique from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) indicating that the Olifantspoort scheme will not be pumping water to Polokwane municipal areas from 08:00 to 16:00.
ALERT Hereby notification that water supply to Polokwane will be affected by repairs to the main pipeline from Olifantspoort Scheme tomorrow. Work is expected to commence at 08:00 and be concluded at 16:00. We apologise for any inconvenience.

The stoppage is to allow the LNW team to repair multiple leaks along the main pipeline from Olifantspoort, Selala explained.
“As a result of this, supply areas of Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja, Thokgwaneng, Seshego and Polokwane will be without water supply.”
He added that water supply will be restored once all repairs have been completed.
In the meantime residents are advised to use water sparingly.
