4-hour water supply interruption as pipe bursts in Polokwane

Those with water supply are urged to use it sparingly.

POLOKWANE – A pipe burst along Munnik Avenue will leave some parts of the city without water supply.

“North View, Mall of the North and surrounding areas are experiencing water shortages due to the pipe burst. Polokwane Municipality’s water team is working on fixing the pipe and restoring water supply to all affected areas,” a statement by municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala reads.

Selala said the team estimates that it will take four hours to complete repairs and restore supply.

“Areas receiving supply are urged to use water sparingly. Water challenges such as supply shortage, pipe bursts and leaks, leaking water meters and open hydrants can be reported to the municipal Water and Sanitation helpline on 015 023 5376/015 023 5629,” he concluded.
