Polokwane: Water supply stoppage planned for two suburbs

The supply stoppage will be for eight hours on Thursday (August 19).

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Municipality spokesperson Thipa Selala has informed residents of another water supply stoppage.

Selala said in a statement that the municipality has to do planned maintenance work on the pipeline from Serala View pump station.

“The planned maintenance work will therefore affect water supply to upper parts of Serala View and Flora Park,” he explained.

Selala said the water supply will be affected between 08:00 and 16:00 on Thursday (August 19).

“The affected areas will receive temporary relief of supply through water tankers on the day. Water supply shall be restored once the maintenance team has completed repairs,” he added.

Selala urged residents to report water-related issues to the municipal Water and Sanitation helpline on 015 023 5376 / 015 023 5629 or to the municipal switchboard on 015 023 5000.

Meanwhile, residents are reminded of another stoppage at the end of the month (August 31), which has an estimated repair time of 48 hours.

The stoppage is to allow for a connection of a newly constructed Specon pipeline and will start at 07:00.

“Areas to be affected include Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja, Thokgwaneng, Polokwane and Seshego,” Selala said at the time.
