Lisa wears the Face of Polokwane crown

Face of Polokwane is about more than beauty and brains – a beautiful heart is a must have.

POLOKWANE – This year’s title was taken by Lisa Kwaramba, who stood out from 22 contestants gunning for the title at the pageant which took place on September 25 at the Library Gardens auditorium.

Event organiser Maite Makgato explained that they looked for somebody who believes in herself. “We wanted someone who has a heart to help people and use the title to impact lives in a positive way, as well as represent the Face of Polokwane brand with dignity,” she said.

Makgato shared that the pageant aims to bridge the gap where models from disadvantaged backgrounds stand a chance to win, as the modelling world is in such a way that it is difficult to succeed without a modelling agency or trainer. “Face of Polokwane offers the necessary pageant training and prepares models for bigger pageants,” she said.

Makgato conveyed her congratulations to Kwaramba and welcomed her to the Face of Polokwane family. “I look forward to working with you and to changing lives with you. I will always be one call away should you need any help along the way. Carry the title with pride as it is your time to shine,” she added.

Kwaramba said she is excited for the beginning of this journey and feels that the title will open the door for bigger things. “I plan to start my own children’s organisation and the title will give me the platform to do so,” she said.
