Man arrested for clocking 206km/h on N1

The man was formally charged at the Mookgophong Police Station.

LIMPOPO – Provincial traffic officials have arrested a 30-year-old man for reckless driving.

The man was caught on the N1 near Mookgophong after he clocked 206km/h in his BMW X5.

“The man was arrested today (October 19) after driving 206km/h in a 120km/h zone. The man was formally charged at the Mookgophong Police Station,” reads a statement by transport spokesperson Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala.

Moremi-Taueatsoala called on law enforcement officials to continue dealing decisively with motorists who disregard the laws of the road.

“Officials should follow in the footsteps of provincial inspectors Meso and Mmotong who made the arrest,” he adds.
