Miss Limpopo Province semi-finalist visits the elderly
The residents of SAVF Martha Hofmeyr enjoyed a fun-filled morning with Miss Limpopo Province semi-finalist Linda Thupi on Friday.
POLOKWANE – Linda paid the old age home a visit as part of her community outreach. “I decided to make the elderly my priority as I feel the other finalist concentrate more on the youth. These elderly people also need love.”
She is an agricultural student and took some fresh fruit for the residents. During Linda’s visit the SAVF social worker Louis Smit also informed the elderly on how to take care of themselves.
“Sometimes we forget to celebrate our old age. When we were younger we could do a lot more. Even if you are older now, you need to take care of you body, mind and emotional well-being. Acknowledge your feelings, be thankful for what you have and stay connected with your friends and family.”
Linda and the elderly people played a balloon music game and decorated cupcakes.
