Dimakatso searching for talented soccer players
Soccer coach Dimakatso Mokgomme says players must start at foundation level and join home teams in order to build their way to the top.
POLOKWANE – Soccer coach Dimakatso Mokgomme calls on players in Ga-Rankhuwa and surrounding areas in Seshego to join her club.
She started Lady Cassper Football Club (FC), which is open for all genders. “The only way to make a living from football is to start at foundation level and join home teams first in order to build your way to the top,” she says. Dimakatso tells BONUS that the most important thing is to be in the right place at the right time and she believes her club will nurture and assist its players to excel. “Even if you’re already a professional or an advanced soccer player who doesn’t have a team yet, we will help you find better teams that you can play for. Do not lose your dream of being a professional soccer player because you miss out on offers. We can assist you,” she says.
Dimakatso grew up in a soccer-loving family and developed a passion for the sport at a young age. She says she wants to pass her skills on to the youth in the community, which led her to start her own club.
Lady Cassper Football Club currently has more than 30 male and female soccer players who participate in local tournaments. While she is at these tournaments she usually invites prospective players to watch the games in the hope that they might join the team.
“I strongly believe in working hard for where you want to be in life. I also want to prove that girls can excel in a male-dominated sport no matter the challenges.”
Dimakatso says the club is currently looking for sponsors for their upcoming tournament as they are in need of soccer kits, medals, trophies, gazebos and bottled water, as well as other equipment for the club. To join the club, email Dimakatso at dimakatso2choene@gmail.com or call 071 543 5919.
