Community leader thanks residents for prayers

Residents in Polokwane, South Africa and abroad continue to support the Moti family through this period of extreme uncertainty and turmoil.

POLOKWANE – Well-known Nirvana resident and community leader Solly Hassan thanked the public for their unwavering support and concern during this testing time.

More than three weeks have passed since the four Moti brothers were kidnapped while on their way to school and prayers for their safe return continue throughout South Africa and abroad.

“We want to place our thanks on record to residents of Polokwane, people of South Africa as well as concerned people abroad, who continuously pray for the Moti children and families who have suffered a similar fate. Thank you to all for your unwavering support and concern during this testing time. May Allah bless you all.”

Hassan says community prayer sessions were this week held at Sal Sabila, Northern Muslim School and at homes in Nirvana. “Let us continue praying to God Almighty in support for the Moti family and ask for the safe return and well-being of Zidan, Zayyad, Alaan and Zia.”

The youngest Moti brother, Zidan, celebrated his seventh birthday on Sunday (November 7) separated from his parents, Nazim and Shakira Moti with birthday messages and messages of support flooding social media.

Meanwhile on various social media platforms, messages of support and prayers for the boys’ safe return continue.

Catherine Constantinides, a self-proclaimed human right defender and humanitarian, called on the nation to continue to pray for the Moti Brothers and their family. “Zidan, Zayyad, Alaan and Zia – Remember these names in your prayers. We cannot simply move on and forget… these are OUR children. It cannot be that four children are taken and we simply forget & move on. God protect them.”
