Prayer session in Nirvana to say ‘thank you’
Residents earlier gathered in Nirvana to give thanks for the safe return of the four Moti brothers.
POLOKWANE – A welcome-home prayer session was held for Zidan (7), Zayyad (11), Alaan (13) and Zia (15) Moti who were released 21 days after they were kidnapped.
The overall intention from those who attended was to give thanks that the boys were returned to their family unharmed.
The initiative, organised by Jana Taylor and James van den Bergh, was held in Nirvana at the business premises of Naazim Moti, the father of the four brothers who were abducted on October 20.
The small gathering saw members of various faith-based groups come together to give thanks to their Creator for the boys’ safe return and as a gesture of support for the family.
Pastor Piet Niemann opened the prayer session with words of thanks.
“We ask for help every day, but forget to say thank you once we have received what we asked for. We asked for the safe return of the children and it was done, we must tell everyone out there to say thank you. In so doing we strengthen our community.”
Solly Hassan, a Nirvana community member, thanked everyone who made the effort to come and pray.
He added that this has shown that irrespective of our differences, the community can stand together in times of need.
