POLOKWANE – The City of Stars will come to a standstill this weekend when Sapa Yopa hosts their annual rally on Saturday at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.
Known for being the biggest motorcycle club in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, the club expects bikers in their thousands for their Memorial Run, which will move from Meropa to the Seshego Circle Centre.
The weekend’s various activities will kick off with a gala dinner on Thursday, headlined by songbird Lira, followed by the Sapa Yopa pre-party, and the main event over the weekend.

The official after party will be headlined by well-known rapper, Cassper Nyovest and entrance is free. The festivities will end off with a Soul Session on Sunday.
According to Sapa Yopa president, Pico Santana, 2 000 bikers are expected at this year’s rally, and added that it is expected to be bigger and better than the previous years’ celebrations. “We are living our dreams of cultural diversity with a membership that includes black, coloured,
white and indian people. This year we will also remember our fellow bikers who died on the road,” said Santana.
He urged motorists to be vigilant and share the road with bikers this weekend. “They should get to know bikers better and remember bikers are motorists too,” he said.
