POLOKWANE – Chabalala said the duo showed their sporting prowess and made it to the top levels of their respective sporting codes.
“Sade, a Gr 11 learner, played in the provincial netball tournament in October, while Karabo (19), who is in Gr 12, did well in the Marumo Gallants’s DStv Diski Challenge team. He played almost all the games.”
Chabalala said Sade has played netball since Gr 4 and developed her skills over the years.
“She plays wing defense and played for the u/17A provincial team, which was ranked seventh out of 14 schools for their age group. Sade believes to win is not the end game, but that the game should rather be about what you learn from the experience.
She also turns to netball as a form of relaxation,” explained Chabalala.
Chabalala said Karabo started to play soccer when he was a young boy living in a township in Johannesburg, where he already had aspirations of getting into a DStv Diski Challenge team.
“Karabo plays with players who are a few years older, with the average age being 23.
He is one to watch and while he finishes his schooling at Northern Academy this year, he will continue to play with hopes to play for Bafana Bafana and make it to the World Cup or the Olympics,” concluded Chabalala.
