Annual festive lights ceremony this Wednesday

The city of Polokwane will be hosting the annual festive lights ceremony on Wednesday evening as a way to welcome the festive season.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Mayor John Mpe will officiate the annual festive light ceremony at Jack Botes Park on Wednesday (December 15).

The ceremony will commence at 17:00 to 22:00 and will include a variety of musical performances including a live band and dj’s as well as a fireworks display.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala says all residents are welcome to attend.

“Bring along your camp chair, picnic backet for an evening of fun.”

He added that Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to and no alcohol or glass containers will be allowed on the site.

Pet owners in the vicinity are encouraged to keep their pets safe and calm for the duration of the event.
