[TAKE NOTE] Installation of water meters to affect water supply

Parts of Polokwane will experience low water supply or no water on Monday and Tuesday due to the installation of bulk water meters.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality hereby notifies residents of a possible water supply interruption in sections of the city on Monday and Tuesday due to the installation of bulk water meters.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala says the installation of a bulk water meter at the Potgieter Reservior will affect the water supply to  parts of Moregloed and Nirvana on Monday.

He explains that the municipal team started with the installations this morning and is expected to complete the work this afternoon.

On Tuesday the team will install a bulk meter along the Sand River North line. The work will commence at 07:30 and end at 15:30. The areas to be affected include Emdo, Luthuli, Mahlako‘a Phahla and Mahlasedi.

Selala adds that the municipality will monitor all affected areas and provide temporary relief measure through water tankers.

“Normal water supply to all affected areas shall be restored once the contractor has finalised the installation of the meters.”
