Pregnant woman injured after vehicle overturns in city
The incident happened on the corner of Dorp and Grobler streets on Tuesday afternoon.
POLOKWANE – A pregnant woman was transported to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened at the intersection of Dorp and Grobler streets at around 17:00. During the incident one of the vehicles involved overturned and landed on its roof in Dorp Street.
One of the first responders was Khell van der Lith the owner of Fred’s Towing Polokwane. In a Facebook post he explained that he arrived on the scene to find a pregnant woman still in the wreckage.
“The woman is 8-month pregnant and we immediately assisted and called an ambulance. She was swiftly removed from the wreck and transported to hospital,” the posts reads.
It is believed the woman sustained minor injuries and both she and her unborn child are currently in good health.
Traffic police were on the scene to conduct further investigations.
