253 Christmas babies born in Limpopo
According to the statistics by the Limpopo Health Department, there were 29 teenage mothers.

LIMPOPO – A total of 253 babies were born in the province on Christmas Day (December 25).
Of these, 124 are boys and 129 are girls. The province delivered 23 less babies than on Christmas Day in 2020.
According to the statistics by the Limpopo Health Department, there were 29 teenage mothers.
We break down the final statistics:
- Vhembe: 61 babies (31 boys and 30 girls) were delivered in the district, and they had 10 teenage mothers.
- Sekhukhune: 50 babies (17 boys and 33 girls) were delivered, and they had seven teenage mothers.
- Mopani: 57 babies (29 boys and 28 girls) were delivered, and they had five teenage mothers.
- Waterberg: 24 babies (17 boys and seven girls) were delivered, and they had one teenage mother.
- Capricorn: 61 babies (30 boys and 31 girls) were delivered, and they had six teenage mothers.

LIMPOPO – The first of the 40 babies delivered in the province on Christmas morning, belongs to a 16-year-old mother.
She gave birth to a baby girl, who weighed 2.84kg, on the stroke of midnight at the Tshilidzini Hospital.
The baby girl was one of 12 babies (seven girls and five boys) delivered in the Vhembe district.
Three babies (two girls and one boy) were delivered in the Sekhukhune district, of which the first was a baby girl who weighed 2.775kg.
She was born at 00:03 and delivered by a 32-year-old mother at St Ritas Hospital.

Eleven babies were delivered in the Mopani district, of which eight are girls and three are boys. The first baby born in the district was a 3.080kg girl, delivered by a 14-year-old teenage mother. She was born at 00:22.
The mother is one of three teenagers in the district to deliver babies this morning.

Five babies (three girls and two boys) were born in the Waterberg district. The first to be delivered was a baby boy who weighed 3.1kg and was welcomed into the world at 00:35.
Meanwhile, nine babies (five girls and four boys) were delivered in the Capricorn district. The first born in the district was a baby boy at 00:38. He was delivered by an 18-year-old mother at Knobel Hospital.
From 00:00 until 05:30, 25 baby girls and 15 baby boys were born on Christmas morning.
