Wine-making is their love language at ST4U
The opportunity to own a wine company has brought Oscar Matediane and Sarah Ramokone from Ga-Molepo closer.
POLOKWANE – They are the proud owners of ST4U Wines which is produced in a factory in Stellenbosch and delivered to Limpopo.
Oscar told BONUS he has always had a love for collecting liquor and Sarah said owning a wine company has always been her dream.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own business and co-owning the company with my husband is even better, because we can manage it accordingly and help each other where there are hiccups,” Sarah said.
She added the initial lockdown played a huge role in pushing them to turning their dream into a reality, as they had time to finish their research and start the business.
Oscar added that ST4U Wines is not about making quick money but rather a business to educate, attract and grow interest in wine consumption.
“The company is about socialising and the health benefits of wine. It is our intention to grow our business by strategically partnering with key players within the industry,” Sarah explained.
The duo emphasised that as a young couple, it is challenging to get people to trust and accept the new product, as well as the pricing, as everyone wants to taste but do not want to buy.
“Funding the whole process from your own pocket is also challenging,” he said
ST4U Wines currently has eight types of dry red, dry white, sweet rosé and natural sweet wines. “Our bottles range from R100 to R189.”
