SAWS issues yellow level 4 warning for parts of Limpopo

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 4 warning for disruptive rain in some parts of the province.

LIMPOPO – Disruptive rain that may lead to localised flooding of roads, low-lying areas and bridges can be expected in some parts of the country today (April 4).

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 4 warning for the eastern parts of the North-West, Gauteng, the western highveld of Mpumalanga, the south-western bushveld of Limpopo and the eastern parts of the Free State.

In Limpopo, areas such as Lephalale, Modimolle, Mookgophong, Marble Hall and Bela-Bela can expect to be affected.

A yellow level 4 warning has been issued.

The service previously warned that heavy downpours can cause formal and informal settlements or roads to flood. “Major roads may be affected but can still be used, however, with an increased travel time. The heavy downpours will cause difficult driving conditions on dirt roads and minor motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and reduced visibility,” they said.

Meanwhile, the weather service’s forecast indicates that Polokwane residents can expect clouds with scattered showers and thundershowers for today.
