Shesha: The dishwashing liquid made for your dirty dishes

POLOKWANE – With the phrase ‘local is lekker’ in mind, 22-year-old Omphulusa Tshililo can now boast with his own brand of dishwashing liquid, Shesha.
Omphulusa, an aspiring entrepreneur said he wanted to help inspire the unemployed youth of the province.

“I am still furthering my studies and I’ve seen many young people struggle to find work after graduation and I wanted to help create employment. I wanted to create something that people use on a daily basis so that my product is bought often.”

Omphulusa told the Polokwane Review that he works well with criticism and takes it as motivation to improve his product. “When I first started making my product, people told me it didn’t have sufficient foam volume and it was difficult to get people to change their household brand, but I took the criticism well,” he said.
Shesha is currently available for R22 in spaza shops and orders can be made via Facebook, where the product is often advertised.
Besides marketing the product on social media, Omphulusa also goes door-to-door and sells it on the street to introduce the product to his target market.
He says the price of his product and its smell is what sets it apart from his competitors.
“I see a lot of improvement from when I first began and more people are interested in buying my product now,” he said.
Tshililo said that he wishes to see his brand being sold in retail stores and advertised on radio and television.
