Be mindful of the less fortunate this Easter, says local reverend
Reverend Mautji Pataki of the Uniting Presbyterian Church of Southern Africa said people should not opress one another and give a helping hand to those in need this Easter.
POLOKWANE – Reverend Mautji Pataki of the Uniting Presbyterian Church of Southern Africa said people celebrating Easter should be mindful of the less fortunate and serve humanity.
Easter allows Christians to observe the commemoration of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and families to bond over dinner or lunch.
Some of the fun activities for the families might include an easter egg hunt and a mix of indoor and outdoor games to create more excitement for the families.
“As we will be commemorating the death of Jesus Christ for coming to the world and saving us, we should reach out to those who are less privileged because Jesus Christ liberated most of us and made sure that the sick are healed and will never be weak. It is important to feed those who are hungry, clothe those who are naked and provide shelter for the homeless. People should not oppress one another,” Pataki said.
He also urged people to be safe on the roads and attend church.
“Easter is not for people to die on the roads or anywhere but to receive life. We would like people to care for one another because by failing to do so they will be betraying the legacy of Jesus Christ.”
