This includes Cycad, Cycad Estate, Welgelegen, Platinum Park and other parts of Bendor.
However, Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said residents along Hillary Street are in the dark due to a mini-sub explosion.
“The mini-sub has to be replaced and this will take approximately three to four hours,” he said.
Earlier, Ward 39 councillor, Franco Marx said he had written to the Speaker of Council to give clarity on the power outage as the area had been without electricity for more than 24-hours “without any meaningful response from the Municipality.”
Marx added that he also sought clarity on allegations that the electricity was not switched on due to an allege labour dispute regarding the non-payment of overtime.
Other allegations included the load-shedding schedule for Polokwane not being implemented by the municipality due to an overtime dispute.
Marx said the Speaker was requested to include these issues in the Council Agenda to be debated on April 28.
