Costs involved with back to school

POLOKWANE – Whether your child is going to school for the first time or returning back to school, the amount of money required is extraordinary.
These costs involve monthly school fees, stationary and school uniform that needs to be bought.
The Polokwane Review found out from schools around the city how much it would cost children between Gr 1 and Gr 7 to go to school.
These prices do not include sports uniforms, tuck shop money or any extras that always jump up during the term.

Stationary for Gr 1 to Gr 7 learners can cost anything between R315 and R785 depending on the child’s age.
Summer uniform for a girl can cost anything between R240-R500 and for a boy, it would cost roughly between R310 and R700.

These prices also do not include socks, jerseys, sport clothes, shoes, hot pants for the girls and items such as ties, ribbons and blazers.
A school bag can cost anything between 320 and R700.
All of these items costs roughly R1000 more or less for basic necessities.
