Ba-Phalaborwa Golf in the Wild re-opens in style

From manicured fairways to picturesque greens, every aspect of the Ba-Phalaborwa Golf in the Wild course has been meticulously crafted to provide an unforgettable golfing experience.

The re-opening of the Ba-Phalaborwa Golf in the Wild (former Hans Merensky Golf Course) on Friday, May 3 2024 was a great success.

The grand opening event saw golf enthusiasts and aficionados coming in great numbers to play the great sport.

The community of Phalaborwa and surrounding areas will no longer have to travel far to play golf as the Ba-Phalaborwa Golf in the Wild is officially open.

The course was officially opened by its owner, Senzo Tsabedze of Indalo Holdings on Friday.

The opening formed part of the Annual Limpopo Marula Festival festivities.

On Friday it was a sponsors round and on Saturday a Corporate Golf Day was hosted. The course lives up to its new name, ‘Golf in the Wild’, with giraffes, impalas and other animals surrounding the course.

From manicured fairways to picturesque greens, every aspect of the course has been meticulously crafted to provide an unforgettable golfing experience. The course boasts an enhanced course layout.

“Our team of experts has meticulously redesigned several holes, ensuring a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels,” said Donovan Muirhead, general manager of the Ba-Phalaborwa Golf in the Wild.

“We are humbled by the support from the local community. We are planning several tournaments and are ready to welcome golf lovers from all over the world to enjoy the beauty of Phalaborwa, especially now that it is almost winter and temperatures locally are are warmer making it the right place to be.”

On Friday the winning team comprised of Enock Nyathi, Pitso Ramalepe, Dlayani Khosa and Mhlava Khosa with 102 points, while the second and third position obtained 93 and 89 points respectively.
