Limpopo Investment Conference to unlock growth in key economic sectors
The Limpopo Investment Conference 2025 aims to raise R120bn and create jobs in key growth sectors including energy, mining and agro-processing.
POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Provincial Government is aiming to raise R120 billion in investments during its fifth annual Limpopo Investment Conference, which will take place at The Ranch Resort outside Polokwane from 30 to 31 October 2025.
Building on the success of previous editions—which collectively secured R66 billion in realised investments and created more than 20 000 jobs—this year’s conference seeks to unlock further opportunities in Limpopo’s key sectors: renewable energy, agriculture and agro-processing, mining and mineral beneficiation, and tourism.
Investments attracted through the conference are expected to support rural agro-hubs, renewable energy plants, small businesses, cooperatives, and youth-led enterprises. The provincial government says tailored support will include direct funding, training, and upskilling initiatives to ensure that communities across Limpopo benefit directly from the investments.
The conference will take place under the theme “Limpopo Rising – Africa’s New Investment Frontier” and is expected to host both local and international investors, reaffirming Limpopo’s position as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing provincial economies, according to recent Stats SA data.
At the media launch earlier this month at the Atrium Hotel in Polokwane, Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba described October as a pivotal moment for Limpopo’s economic growth. “This season reminds us that every investment we plant can blossom into prosperity for our people,” she said.
MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Tshitereke Matibe, said the province’s goal is clear: to process Limpopo’s mineral and agricultural wealth locally, creating jobs and reducing reliance on raw exports. He added that Limpopo is working with the North West Province on a joint beneficiation and mineral value-chain strategy aimed at unlocking shared industrial potential.
“Every solar panel built, every food product processed, and every tourist welcomed to Limpopo represents our determination to rise together. The next decade belongs to provinces that invest in their people, and Limpopo is ready,” Matibe said.
