Missing toddler’s body discovered in bushes near Lebowakgomo
The 21-month-old was reported missing by her mother about a week ago, after which extensive search operations were conducted.
LIMPOPO – On October 28, 21-month-old Motheo Rashilo was reported missing by her mother.
“The police immediately started to investigate the case and search operations were launched, which ultimately led to the discovery of the toddler’s body in the bushes near Màlatane village on Wednesday (November 2) at about 16:00,” Lieutenant colonel Mamphaswa Seabi confirmed in a statement.
Young Motheo’s mother was forced to open a missing persons case at the Lebowakgomo Police Station after she allegedly left her child in her friend’s care to run a few errands.
Upon her return her friend told her that Motheo disappeared, she reported to the police.
“Police investigations continue to determine the cause of her death and how her body ended up in the bushes,” Seabi added.
The police ask that residents give them the needed time and space to fully investigate the matter.
