Two children die after being hit by speeding driver in Waterval
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated and the female driver is yet to be arrested for the incident.

LIMPOPO – Two learners died and three of their family members were seriously injured after they were hit by a speeding driver while standing outside their house in Waterval on November 5.
The driver of the vehicle had seemingly lost control of the vehicle.
Eighteen-year-old Ntsakisi Hlungwane, a Gr 12 learner at Waterval High School and six-year-old Sharon Mapholi, a Gr 1 learner at Mulweli Primary School died on the scene.
The other three injured members were rushed to Elim Hospital for treatment.

At the time of going to press only one of them was still hospitalised. According to the uncle of the deceased children, Matimu Maluleke, they are greatly saddened by what happened.
“Ntsakisi and Sharon were still so young. This driver has taken their lives and the state didn’t do anything. She was not arrested nor did the police take any blood samples.”

He said they were not happy that the driver of the vehicle is walking around freely and that they would not rest until she is brought to book.Provincial police spokesperson Lt Col Mamphaswa Seabi confirmed that a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.Ntsakisi and Sharon were buried at Waterval on November 12.
