Polokwane welcomes the festive season with a bang

Polokwane Mayor John Mpe lit up Jack Botes Park with festive lights so that residents could celebrate the start of the festive season in style.

POLOKWANE – A large crowd of residents gathered at Jack Botes Park on Friday (December 9) to watch the annual switching on of the festive lights.

Polokwane Mayor John Mpe turned on the LED lights that were hung around the park as festive decorations to welcome the holiday season at a place where people can go to for relaxation or entertainment but especially to feel the Christmas spirit in the city this time of the year.

Adults and children alike were wonderstruck when the park lit up with LED lights and fireworks.

Visitors enjoyed musical performances by artists such as Master KG, Musa Keys, Krusher, The double trouble, Mr Borwn and many more local talent.

The switch on of festive lights take place every year in the city and the lights will stay on until the end of the festive season.
