Mokhari celebrates 27 golden years on air
Mankoko Baby Mokhari celebrated her journey which includes working for Thobela FM, under the theme, 'I am that woman'.
POLOKWANE – Saturday afternoon was a sweet jol for supporters of cherished public broadcaster Mankoko Baby Mokhari, as she celebrated 27 golden years of radio in the presence of fellow industry giants at NG Kerk Moedergemeente.

The 40-year-old, who is also the founder of the Mankoko Baby Foundation, celebrated her journey, which includes working for Thobela FM, under the theme, ‘I am that woman’.

Live performances of award winning poets, musicians, dancers, nationally acclaimed actresses such Lydia Mokgokoloshi better known as Koko Mantsha on Skeem Saam, Leparagadi, Maleboo and Sinkie Mathe among others kept the audience fired up.

Mokhari’s foundation has helped some communities through donations of food parcels and spearheaded organising the fruitful ceremony. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards the foundation’s development.
The multi-award winning star from Mookgophong held two installments of such events in the past, and said more was in the pipeline. Mokhari has moved across various programmes of Thobela FM and has steered the breakfast show for a considerable number of years.
She currently hosts the drive show, Ntšhirogele between 15:00 and 18:00.
