A taste of Limpopo’s traditional food at Hayani Guest House
Gracas Traditional Flavours at Hayani Guest House opened its doors on November 7 with the intention of keeping the tradition alive.

LIMPOPO – For the best traditional food, look no further than Gracas Traditional Flavours in Plot 19, Palmietfontein, Polokwane at Hayani Guest House where the restaurant serves traditional food including breakfast.
Gracas Traditional Flavours opened its doors last Tuesday and specialises in mogodu, thongolifha, mopani worms, dumplings, samp, goat meat and indigenous morogo.
According to the founder of Gracas Traditional Flavours, Grace Sibara, they want to keep tradition alive.

“We are trying by all means to revive and recover what we have lost as a people during Covid-19 and as we do that, we have managed to come up with a new venture at Hayani Guest Manor which is Gracas Traditional Flavours. It means now we are incorporating this traditional restaurant at the guest house. Domestic and international tourists are welcome to come and experience these traditional meals found in the heart of Limpopo,” she said.
She said tourism is surely bouncing back following the lockdown three years ago.

“Tourism is alive in Limpopo regardless of the pandemic. I want to see everyone who visits Polokwane come and taste our traditional food. We promise good food to our customers in a clean environment and in the typical way of living of the people of Limpopo.”
She told CV that the goal is to make sure the brand becomes well-known as a homegrown brand which seeks to achieve nothing but to emancipate a black child.

“I make sure that I sell fresh food to my customers. Our unique mouth-watering taste is what sets us apart from the rest. Food plays a healing and joyful role in our lives and most importantly, it unites people, especially when it is well prepared with exceptional taste,” she said.
Economic and Tourism deputy director General Keabetwe Tlouane congratulated Sibara on her new venture.
“We are very grateful for this adventure, given that this is a sector that was badly affected by Covid-19. We are recovering gradually and we are happy to see the innovation that you are bringing so that people who come here have even more to enjoy of this beautiful province and what it is that defines us as Limpopo. We are very grateful for people like you for helping us to carry on this culture and heritage.”
