#MoreToEnjoyThisSummer: Welcome to Limpopo
The objectives of the initiative is to position Destination Limpopo as a preferred summer destination and to highlight the destination tourism offering.
POLOKWANE – The MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (Ledet), Rodgers Monama launched the Summer Campaign as an initiative to promote and drive domestic tourism during this festive season.
The event was held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on Saturday evening amid a hive of activity with the aim to showcase Limpopo as a suitable holiday destination for this festive season and to grow market share in terms of domestic travellers.
This campaign will run until March 2024 with the message #MoreToEnjoyThisSummer and #GoLimpopo.

Monama said the emphasis will this year once again be on the ‘More to Enjoy’ tagline as a way of emphasising the province’s diverse destination offering.
“The objectives of this initiative are to position Destination Limpopo as a preferred summer destination, to highlight the destination tourism offering, and to create awareness of some of the lesser-known destinations.”
He said the current one is one of four critical seasonal campaigns that seek to promote and market Limpopo as a viable tourist destination both locally and in the rest of the world.

“The Summer Campaign takes place against the backdrop of a successful Tourism Month Campaign that we launched at Karibu Leisure Resort in Tzaneen, where the tourism family and stakeholders celebrated the Limpopo chapter of World Tourism Day,” he said.
The campaign will be supported by activations and or exhibitions provincially with other partners.
The province, through Ledet and its entities, recently hosted a successful Limpopo Investment Conference, which attracted investors who in total pledged R37.45b to the province.

“We are humbled by this gesture of generosity as this will create jobs everywhere where these projects take place,” Monama said.
Limpopo Tourism Agency board chairperson Andrew Dipela emphasised the importance of the campaign.
“As we welcome tourists to our province, we should provide great services and treat them well because visitors vote with their feet. If they are treated well, they will return.”
He called on the people of Limpopo to continue to traverse their own province as there is more to enjoy in Limpopo. “The plan with this campaign is to keep Limpopo, a province unlike any other, as a top-of-mind destination in the domestic market and to drive the target audience to www.golimpopo.com for more information,” said Dipela. Several events were organised for the citizens of Limpopo to support the agency, including the Xitsonga Music Awards to be held at Nkowankowa Stadium on November 4; the Yellow Arum Lily Festival in Roossenekal in Sekhukhune on November 25; Thobela FM Gospel Festival at the Polokwane Cricket Club on November 25; Sapa Yopa Rally in Polokwane at the Polokwane Showground from November 30 to December 3 and the Mapungubwe Arts Festival in Polokwane at a venue and date to be confirmed.
