Intercare a medical milestone for City of Stars
Intercare was founded by chairperson George Veliotes and CEO Hendrik Hanekom, and The Greenery boasts a state-of-the-art facility with the latest in high technology medical equipment.
POLOKWANE – Intercare Medical and Dental Centre officially opened its doors to their broader clientele in Polokwane and the province at The Greenery shopping centre during a gala event held on November 23.
The opening coincided with the institution’s 20 years celebration of making people feel better.

Intercare was founded by chairperson George Veliotes and CEO Hendrik Hanekom, and The Greenery boasts a state-of-the-art facility with the latest in high technology medical equipment, a number of consultation rooms and even a kiddies corner.
Reflecting on their most recent milestone and the success of the institution, Hanekom said he and Veliotes founded Intercare with the purpose of making people feel better.

“Limpopo is a special place because this is where I started my medical career. We are happy to open the centre in Polokwane and we are happy with the final product. We want to enhance access to various integrated health care services, and grow health care in the province. We started the Intercare journey when we opened the first Intercare Medical and Dental Centre in Pretoria in 2002. Although we had to overcome several obstacles and steep learning curves, Intercare has evolved to be leaders in health. Reflecting on the past 20 years, I am grateful for and humbled by the growth of the company. This would not have been possible without the hard work of our health care providers and other team members, and the overwhelming support of our customers. Thank you for your dedication and loyalty, which contributed to earning the company the respect it enjoys today,” said Hanekom.
He added that the success they have achieved can be attributed to the never-ending process of investing in good relationships and surrounding themselves with capable and trustworthy people.

“For tomorrow’s leaders, my advice will be to make decisions with speed and conviction, as a wrong decision is often better than no decision at all. Be quick to adjust your sails when the wind changes, make plans and turn hope into action, and never stop trying.”
Desmond Moloto, the Acting Mayor of Polokwane described the opening of the centre as a major development in the City of Stars.
“We are delighted that Intercare brought to our city this medical and dental centre that offers state-of-the-art technology and equipment. We hope that our residents will enjoy access to world-class medical services through your facility, at affordable costs. It also brings us joy that you have employed four general practitioners who are all well-known within our city, to offer services that Intercare will provide. This echoes our usual sentiments that the best can indeed be found in Polokwane,” added Moloto.

He stressed that they are proud to welcome Intercare Polokwane Medical and Dental Centre to the family of medical centres in the City of Polokwane.
