Two arrested in Polokwane for child pornography
The two suspects were arrested in separate events in Bendor and Roodepoort outside Polokwane on Tuesday, 27 February.
POLOKWANE – Two persons were arrested on Tuesday, February 27, for the possession of child pornography and the possession of ammunition.
The men, aged 23 and 52 were arrested in separate events in Bendor and Roodepoort outside Polokwane.
During the operation, the 52-year-old suspect was arrested at a shopping centre in Bendor for possession of child pornography, from there the team proceeded to his residence to collect more evidence. On arrival, they searched the premises where he stays with his family. According to information, the police’s national and provincial family violence, child protection and sexual offences dealing with serial and electronic crime investigations was activated by the national division to effect the arrest.
The 23-year-old suspect was found in possession of ammunition in his room and was arrested after the police recovered a total of 52 rounds of ammunition, four shotgun rounds, empty cartridges, propellant power, a panga and knives.
Provincial police commissioner Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe gave the team a praiseworthy messages as she appreciated the efforts which led to the arrest of the suspects.
They will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on February 29.
