Cable fault leaves Westenburg and Nirvana in the dark

The Polokwane Municipality confirmed that teams are on site to rectify remaining issues to streets who are still without power.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says they are working on restoring power to both Westenburg and Nirvana.

The two areas had been without electricity since Monday night due to what municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala says was a cable fault.

“The disruption was caused by an exploded termination which resulted in power outages across several streets,” he said.

Selala added that “significant progress has been made” as power has been restored to majority of the affected areas, however, several streets are still without power.

“The maintenance teams are currently on-site working to rectify the remaining issues. Every effort is being made to ensure that power supply is restored to all affected areas without further delay,” he said.

Electricity-related queries can be directed to the electrical customer service helpline on 015 290 2490 or via WhatsApp: 083 824 9886.
