Healthy and beautiful skin with crafted skincare by KathyM

LIMPOPO – Resilience self-belief, and the determination to never give up are the ingredients needed to enter the highly competitive beauty industry.

This is according to Denga Kathy Magagane from Ha-Nthabalala outside Louis Trichardt in Vhembe, and also the brain behind KathyM.

The 30-year-old owns KathyM that produces meticulously crafted skincare such as body lotion and perfumes.

Magagane completed a beauty short courses (skin care) at the Face-to-Face Beauty and Makeup Design school in Johannesburg.

She said she was raised by both her parents who were very passionate about business.

“I turned to business in 2016 in Johannesburg after failing to get space at universities as a first-time student, where I was doing kids decor. KathyM is a 100% woman owned business, which was established in September 2020.”

She said KathyM has flourished into a local leading skincare company, renowned for its exceptional beauty products.

“Our range of meticulously crafted skincare products showcase KathyM products commitment to quality and efficiency.”

KathyM is an emerging beauty and skin care company that was established to fill a niche in the market of skin care and beauty in South Africa, selling its own line of skin care and beauty products, she added.

“We offer a substantial line of products to help our customers keep their skin healthy and feel beautiful, offering fast, efficient, and affordable freight delivery. One of the challenges I came across as KathyM is to have money to start my business because all I wanted was to have products that sell themselves. I started to save money from selling fat cakes and that is how I funded the business.”

She told CV that her family is very supportive when it comes to business.

“All my distributors are my family members including my husband, mom, sisters, and brothers. I am so intentional in whatever I do, but consistency and believing in my business is what makes my business successful. I love challenges that bring forth results, wisdom and knowledge, so having KathyM makes me believe more about how everything is possible with God.”

She concluded by saying balancing life and being a business owner is difficult, however with very supportive people it is possible.

“Time management is very important. A journey is a process that is full of challenges, but we all want to reach a state of rest in our business where everything is in order and I am happy because I am doing well. It was difficult to start this business. I had to persuade clients to trust me. I had to build relationships with the clients so they could trust me.”

Apart from KathyM the business, Kathy is also an accomplished author. She recently published her book ‘The Rise of a Woman’.

Launched in August last year, the book is a testament to KathyM’s dedication to empowering women and encouraging personal growth, she said.
